Promoting Laughter Yoga

Promoting laughter yoga.

There are many ways to say thank you that have tremendous impact on your spirit.  From Chapter 5 in THANKYOUOLOGY, the #1 way is with:

Laughter

Children know intuitively that laughter is the best.  They laugh hundreds of times a day while adults are known to laugh 10-15 times by comparison.

Dr. Madan Kataria, a medical doctor from India, studied the Norman Cousins story about healing with laughter. Along with other research, he was motivated to develop Laughter Yoga that is practiced in more 7,000 laughter clubs throughout the world. There are no jokes; nothing to make fun of.  People simply laugh for exercise.

From his book, Laugh for No Reason, Dr. Kataria states: “Laughter makes us feel good because it diffuses three of the most painful emotions (fear, anger and boredom) by releasing them.  That release prevents or stops conflicts, eases tension and helps people to better see others’ point of view.”

Laughter Yoga has been featured on Oprah, Dancing with the Stars, Geraldo Rivera, Good Morning America and CNN to name a few.  It’s fun and excellent exercise.   Below is a video of Cheryl leading a laughter yoga group at Laguna Woods Village in California.  Click here for a closer look at her Laughter Yoga classes.
