Mind Thankyouology

The art of saying thank you is very important for the mind to keep it calm and focused for the tasks at hand and events of your day.  From Chapter 5 of THANKYOUOLOGY, here are some suggestions for saying thank you to your mind:

Breathing

Breathing techniques improve your energy and promote healing.  Say thank you to your body with deep inhalation counting up to 20 and then exhale very slowly to the count of 20.  Every time you stop and do just that much, you are saying a big thank you.  Dr. Otto Warburg, president, Institute of Cell Physiology, Nobel Prize Winner states:

“Deep breathing techniques which increase oxygen to the cells are the most important factors in living a disease free and energetic life.  Remember, where cells get enough oxygen, cancer will not, cannot occur.”

Meditation

Meditation is scientifically proven to reduce stress, blood pressure, heart disease and anxiety.  Practiced regularly, meditation also increases mental abilities, focus, concentration, longevity and creates the consciousness to be in control of your life.  Thank you can be used as a mantra in meditation.  Whether you are sitting in a quiet, peaceful pose or traveling down the freeway in your  car, use the words thank you to center your attention.  Click here for Gary van Warmerdam’s Thank You Life meditation.

Take Time

Time.  How are you spending yours?  No need for stress management training if you are mindful of your time and what you do with it. Using a month-at-a-glance calendar makes it easy to see when days or evenings are filling up. When your schedule starts to fill up, mark off the next day or evening to keep from over scheduling, overbooking and overloading your mind.

Take the time to think…it is the source of power.
Take the time to play…it is the secret of keeping young.
Take the time to read…it is the source of knowledge.
Take the time to pray…it is the greatest power on earth.
Take the time to make friends…it is the road to happiness.
Take the time to laugh…it is the music of the soul.
Take the time to give…it is the price of success.
Take the time to be charitable…it is the key to Heaven.
Take the time to love…it is the grace of God.
