Before the month of August gets away, I just had to share something I received from Steve Simon who is a most fantastic artist.

Hello there!
What a treat to be on the receiving end of one of my thank you suggestions in THANKYOUOLOGY! I just had to share it with you!
Since I was a house guest in many homes during a recent transition time for me, I practiced sprinkling “thank you” sticky notes around when I left a home when I had been staying. Imagine the joy I felt when I returned home last night to find thoughtful sticky notes of thanks and appreciation from my dear friend, Jennifer who stayed with me for a week. Everything was “noted” in special ways. Some I found immediately and others were tucked away only to be discovered after I thought I found them all.
I left them right where Jennifer put them and have been enjoying them all day…and when I do take them down, I will put them on paper and include them with my folder of thank you notes. What a delightful gift to receive.
This experience is such a perfect demonstration of how the giving and receiving of gratitude is seamless. Her presence was such a gift to me and I feel immense gratitude for having her stay in my home.
Ah yes..practicing the art of saying thank you is such a magnificent way to live!
With a thankful heart,
Cheryl
I love putting the art of saying thank you “to the test”. And that’s exactly what my artist friend, Steve Simon (www.stevesimon.com) did! He actually conducted an experiment that I would like to share with you. Here is what he did:
Some months ago I did the Emoto experiment with rice and water. The one on the left I silently said “thank you” to every day (or as often as I remembered) and sent it positive loving energy. The one on the right I sent negative thoughts. As Emoto writes in his book, first the rice in the “thank you” sample turned yellow and the rice in the “you fool!” container got black spots. Eventually, the water in the “thank you” container began to ferment into something of a sake wine with a golden amber hue.
The water in the “you fool” container turned into a foul smelling pale yellow gel. As Emoto points out, with the body 80% water, imagine what we can do with our thoughts!
Exactly! Our thoughts control our words and our words direct our actions. It’s like a mathematical equation: Thoughts + Words = Actions! So go out there today and live thank you in every way! Conduct your own thank you experiment and let me know about your results. I would love to share them with others. Thank you so much!
