August 30, 2009

Before the month of August gets away, I just had to share something I received from Steve Simon who is a most fantastic artist.

Billie and I visited my mom and sister in July.  Before we left, I had my sister put rice in two plastic cups and labeled them “1″ and “2.”  She placed them on top of her refrigerator.  Each day I sent loving energy to 1 and ignored 2.  My sister just returned from a trip to Europe and sent me this photo.  Besides the difference in appearance, she said the darker rice was all stuck together and the whiter rice was not.  Indeed, distance has no impact on positive energy!  Also, even though they were right next to each other my intention was only directed at number 1.
Once again the power of our thoughts has been proven with this simple “experiment” that can be applied to any situation.  So, I emailed Steve and asked him to join me and others in another “experiment”.  This one involves a neighbor and his girlfriend who are heavy smokers and play their music very loud.  The intention is to focus on an energy of light, love and gratitude about this situation without any expectations.  I will keep you update you on this “experiment” as changes occur.
Steve's Experiment

Hello there!

What a treat to be on the receiving end of one of my thank you suggestions in THANKYOUOLOGY!  I just had to share it with you!

Since I was a house guest in many homes during a recent transition time for me, I practiced sprinkling “thank you” sticky notes around when I left a home when I had been staying.  Imagine the joy I felt when I returned home last night to find thoughtful sticky notes of thanks and appreciation from my dear friend, Jennifer who stayed with me for a week.  Everything was “noted” in special ways.  Some I found immediately and others were tucked away only to be discovered after I thought I found them all.

I left them right where Jennifer put them and have been enjoying them all day…and when I do take them down, I will put them on paper and include them with my folder of thank you notes.  What a delightful gift to receive.

This experience is such a perfect demonstration of how the giving and receiving of gratitude is seamless.  Her presence was such a gift to me and I feel immense gratitude for having her stay in my home.

Ah yes..practicing the art of saying thank you is such a magnificent way to live!

With a thankful heart,

Cheryl
